Marcia Groff has worked in many facets of the entertainment industry. She first honed her skills at
EMI America Records, working closely with Kenny Rogers, Kim Carnes, Sir Cliff Richard, The Stray
Cats, Dottie West and Robert John, as National Coordinator of Artist Development.
Following her five year stint at the record label she worked with various public relation firms whose
diverse client rosters included Bob Hope, Barbara Eden, Julie Andrews, Blake Edwards, Roberto
Duran, Al Jarreau and Harold Robbins. Production accounts included TNT’s “Kissinger/Nixon:Peace
at Hand,” Prime’s “30th Annual Victor Awards,” the “Mrs. America Pageant,” and PBS’ “Kratt’s
Creatures,” and “Katie and Orbie,” narrated by Leslie Nielsen.
In the early 1990’s, Marcia founded Entertainment Enterprises, a public relations and production
company. Clients have included award winning country artists Rosie Flores and Katy Moffatt,
Grammy award winner Janice-Marie (A Taste of Honey) and jazz composer/arranger Charley
Harrison. Award winning filmmakers include Tane McClure and Tyke Caravelli of Trampas Film
Productions (“Trance”), Andre Champagne and Alan Bernhoft (“The Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,Rock
N’ Roll Musical”), and We Care About Kids founders Allan Rich and Peter Antico (“Newton’s Law”/
“League of the Old Men”/ Big Leaf Tobacco Company”). Film festival credits include the first and
second Backlot Film Festival, Larry Hankin’s 10 Funny Fables, and Penton’s Media’s ME Festival,
among others. In addition to doing public relations for numerous local stage productions, corporate
theatre accounts have included The Jewel Box Theatre and The Stella Adler Theatre, Hollywood,
culminating in the 2002 Stella Adler Awards honoring Antonio Banderas, Melanie Griffith and James
Coburn. Special projects have included Earth Day International, American Red Cross and the
Human Rights Campaign.
After working as an associate producer for Public Broadcast Television and Capitol Records on
“Dave Koz:Off the Beaten Path,” she was asked by Capitol Records to create a national public
relations campaign for the debut of Robbie Robertson’s television special, “Making A Noise: A
Native American Musical Journey.” Additional producer credits include the 1994-1996 “Feather
Awards,” honoring ballroom dancers. Cable and syndication credits include “Red Cross Across
America,” “A Christmas Card From Branson,” “Branson USA Flood Relief Campaign,” and
Discovery’s Channel’s award winning series, “Hollywood Chronicles,” hosted by Jackie Cooper.
Writer/researcher assignments include Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, with Talent
Executive credits that include TNN’s “Home For The Holidays,” Encore Channel’s “The Sixties,”
Discovery’s “Hollywood Christmas Story” with Rosemary Clooney, “The Hollywood Dinosaur
Chronicles,” hosted by Doug McClure, and the Cable Ace nominated A&E series “The Edge and
Beyond,” narrated by James Coburn. Recent television production credits, in association with
Trampas Films, include “The Eye of Dan” and “The Real Reel West.”
Public Speaking engagements have included the Music and Writers Workshop, Storywork
Entertainment’s Navigating Hollywood, and for the past five years the Music Business Institute’s
Cutting Edge Film and Music seminars, held in New Orleans.
